“Play On” celebrates the 55th Anniversary of The Ides of March.

VERNON HILLS, IL–Rock fans joined Jim Peterik and The Ides of March on November 23rd as they celebrated 55 years together. The band originated in Berwyn, Illinois, in 1964 and is the world’s longest-performing rock band that still has all of its original members.

They performed several songs from their 55th Anniversary album, Play On, produced by Fred Mollin and The Ides, and features 14 new songs plus a re-release of their platinum hit, Vehicle.

Jim’s songs have appeared in many films. Eye of the Tiger, from the film, Rocky III, has become a classic, garnering Grammy, People’s Choice Award, and Oscar nominations. Other billboard chart-toppers include The Search is Over, High on You, and I Can’t Hold Back. Other song hits from films include the chart-topping Burning Heart from Rocky IV. He co-wrote the theme of the seminal animation classic, Heavy Metal with Sammy Hagar.
