ABOUT PHIL AND MARLO
Phillip John Donahue (born December 21, 1935) is an American media personality, writer, film producer and the creator and host of The Phil Donahue Show. The television program, later known as Donahue, was the first talk show format that included audience participation. The show had a 29-year run on national television in America that began in Dayton, Ohio in 1967 and ended in New York City in 1996.
His shows have often focused on issues that divide liberals and conservatives in the United States, such as abortion, consumer protection, civil rights and war issues. His most frequent guest was Ralph Nader, for whom Donahue campaigned in 2000. Donahue also briefly hosted a talk show on MSNBC from July 2002 to March 2003.
Donahue is one of the most influential talk show hosts and has been called the “king of daytime talk.” Oprah Winfrey has stated, “If it weren’t for Phil Donahue, there would never have been an Oprah Show.” In 1996, Donahue was ranked #42 on TV Guide‘s 50 Greatest TV Stars of All Time. -Wikipedia
Margaret Julia “Marlo” Thomas (born November 21, 1937) is an American actress, producer, author, and social activist best known for starring on the sitcom That Girl (1966–1971) and her award-winning children’s franchise Free to Be… You and Me. She has received four Emmys, a Golden Globe, and a Peabody Award for her work in television, and she has been inducted into the Broadcasting and Cable Hall of Fame. She has also received a Grammy Award for her children’s album Marlo Thomas and Friends: Thanks & Giving All Year Long. In 2014, she was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
Thomas serves as National Outreach Director for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which was founded by her father Danny Thomas in 1962. She created the Thanks & Giving campaign in 2004 to support the hospital. -Wikipedia
MARLO MEETS PHIL ON THE DONAHUE SHOW
The Phil Donahue Show, also known as Donahue, is an American television talk show hosted by Phil Donahue that ran for 26 years on national television. Its run was preceded by three years of local broadcast on WLWD in Dayton, Ohio, and it was broadcast nationwide between 1970 and 1996. From Dayton, the show moved to Chicago then to New York City.
In 2002, Donahue was ranked twenty-ninth on TV Guide magazine’s list of the fifty greatest television shows of all-time. -Wikipedia

That Girl is an American sitcom that ran on ABC from 1966 to 1971 about aspiring actress Ann Marie who moves to New York and works at a series of temp jobs while waiting for her big break in show business, while her overprotective father, Lou, looks on nervously. Although she is focused on her career, Ann also finds time to fall for magazine executive Donald Hollinger, to whom she eventually becomes engaged.
