The pipe-and-drapes that, for weeks in July 2019, surrounded our State Street bookstore located in the lower level of Macy’s have finally come down to reveal a shiny walkway of bright white tiles.
It’s part of an ongoing makeover throughout the store that both store employees and customers have been seeing since floors eight through 14 of the flagship Marshall Field’s building were sold to Brookfield Asset Management in Toronto for $30 million.
It’s clear that some of that money is being put to good use to renovate many key high-traffic areas throughout the store. Stop by and take a stroll. Along with our new floors we also have some new book releases!
