Dr. Brooklyn Washington was born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. She is dedicated to helping individuals improve their health. She earned her bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Illinois State University in 2000. She attended the National University of Health Sciences where she earned her doctorate degree in chiropractic medicine in 2010.  She is a licensed massage therapist and a certified lymphedema therapist.

Dr. Washington has a passion for working with women and children.  Being a mother of three, she understands the struggles of work/life balance, and the importance of incorporating attainable lifestyle changes.  She recognizes the rates of which illnesses like diabetes, high blood pressure, thyroid, autoimmune, ADHD, depression, and infertility are rising.  She wants each patient to understand the “why” and focuses on identifying the root causes of illness.  She will use analogies to explain health conditions making it easier for patients to understand and is open to sharing her health struggles which led her to this profession.  She welcomes you to join her in “thinking differently” and looks forward to working with you!

Dr. Melissa Salinas is a clinician who completed her doctorate at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She has worked with individuals, ages 3-70, families, parent-child dyads, and couples.  Dr. Salinas believes all individuals can benefit from having additional support to help them cope through difficult times in their lives.

In particular, Dr. Salinas has extensive experience working with families, children, and schools when completing both psychological assessments and psycho-educational assessments, which focuses on understanding a child’s strengths and weaknesses within the academic domains covered in school. She has hosted team meetings with teachers, staff, and parents to understand the results of the child’s assessment, helped to provide and implement recommendations and worked with individualized education plans for private schools.

In therapy, Dr. Salinas focuses on the needs of the client(s) ranging from a multitude of difficulties. For children under the age of 5, Dr. Salinas works with a parent-child dyad to focus on the relationship between child and parent in order to address issues included but not limited to behavioral difficulties, trauma, and relationship difficulties. In therapy with individuals older than 5, Dr. Salinas tailors therapy to best address the presenting difficulties.  Dr. Salinas is an open, warm, empathetic therapist who understands each individual is impacted by the multiple systems in which they are integrated.
