CHICAGO—After being shut down for nearly three months, Macy’s at 111 N. State Street reopened on Friday, June 12th, along with our bookstore on the lower level.
In the past few weeks members of our staff, including those from our other bookstores, painstakingly cleaned, sanitized, and reorganized the counters, shelves, and bookcases. The store was restocked with new books, along with bargain books, classics, and all-time favorites.
Our newest feature within Macy’s is an outpost, in the first floor Ladies’ Accessories department, stacked with the 1952 book, Give the Lady What She Wants—the story of Marshall Field’s. Authored by journalists Herman Kogan and Lloyd Wendt, Give the Lady What She Wants was republished in 2020 by Barbara’s Bookstore and contains a new introduction by Rick Kogan, son of Herman.
